Fellows & Grad Affiliates

Fellows

Each residential college has a community of Fellows, members of the University drawn from different departments and schools, as well as Associate Fellows, usually members of the larger community, who engage in college life. The fellowship of Grace Hopper College – including residents, relatively local folk, and geographically far-flung friends of the college – has been strongly supportive of Hopper students and college life. Fellows serve as advisors; help the Head and Dean identify potential resources and contacts for undergraduates, and have served on college committees to select students for fellowships or conduct mock interviews with national fellowship selection committees. At our college specifically, the Fellowship also lent support to the college, helping us navigate the complex and exciting years of the name change from Calhoun to Grace Hopper College.

Graduate Affiliate Program

The graduate affiliate program brings together Yale College undergraduates and Yale University graduate and professional students. A dynamic group of graduate and professional students is affiliated with Hopper for the academic year (see bios and contact information). Our grad affiliates will be available to give advice, mentoring support, and share ideas on every aspect of life over meals in the dining hall – just drop them an e-mail if you have specific questions you would like to ask. Grad Affiliates also participate in everyday life at Hopper by supporting the Social Activities Chairs by organizing various activities and social events. Hoppers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the GAs’ perspective on applications for fellowships or professional schools, presentation skills, or life after college in general.
